The farmhouse, part 16th Century and part modern, offers 21st C. comforts and a warm welcome. Interesting footpaths radiate from Knitson throughout Purbeck, with long views of unspoilt countryside. The garden is very well known and frequently opened in the National Gardens Scheme, and it’s yours during your stay. Superb breakfasts start the day, and hot drinks can be had at any hour without charge, so tea on the lawn is a must on sunny days. The South Room is in the ancient part of the house, with a queen-sized bed and a single bed in an alcove. It has a private bathroom right across the hall. The Coal Bunker is a new very popular room, with a double bed and cupboards up a steep oaken spiral staircase, and sitting area and en-suite facilities on the ground floor. Advanced booking is essential, and generous reductions for children are available. |
